Do you want to work with objects and collections? Hälsinglands Museum is advertising a position as Object Curator. Object Curator, Collections Management Hälsinglands Museum conducts broad activities around cultural heritage through knowledge building and research; collection and care of collections, as well as knowledge sharing through exhibitions, programs and education. The museum's collections include a diversity of objects with high cultural-historical values within several different areas. From different periods and environments with focus on the Hälsingland region. Some of the museum's profile areas are interior wall paintings, folk clothing and folk interior textiles, minorities, and ecclesiastical objects. Job Description As an Object Curator at Hälsinglands Museum, you will have overall responsibility for collections management, including object, photo and document archives. You will function as a coordinator for collections work at the museum. In this position, you will work with both strategic and operational tasks. The tasks include, among other things: · Coordinate the museum's collections work both physically and digitally. · Drive and seek funding for projects related to collections management, accessibility and digitization. · Activate collections through exhibitions, collaborations and program activities. · Organization and development of the museum's storage facilities and archives. · Object handling and moving of objects. · Handle incoming and outgoing loans. · Coordinated pest control (IPM). · Implement routines, action plans, and policy documents. Develop the museum's processes according to SPECTRUM standards in collaboration with museum staff. · Administer the museum's collections management system (Primus). Qualifications, Requirements · Degree in cultural history, object conservation or equivalent education. · Experience with object handling and collections development. · Experience with project management and working in projects. · Good pedagogical skills and strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English and Swedish. · B-class driver's license. Qualifications, Merits · Experience with museum work involving collections, both physically and digitally. · Previous coordinating or management duties. · Experience in securing funding with good results. · Experience working with Primus, DigitaltMuseum, KulturNav, Access to Memory, Nextcloud systems. · Experience with or good knowledge of SPECTRUM standards. · Experience with photography. · Experience with coordinated pest control (IPM). Personal Qualities · You are thorough and enjoy creating structure in both physical and digital environments. · You are practical and have the ability to work with physical handling, moving and organizing objects in a safe and structured manner. The work can be physically demanding. · You have a broad interest in history and good knowledge of cultural-historical objects. · You have experience/willingness to interact with the public. · You have experience working with norms, values and equality. · You are curious and want to develop working methods and routines within collections management together with your colleagues, while being self-directed and confident in driving your work forward independently. Employment Working hours are mainly during daytime on weekdays; weekend and evening work may occur. Work location: Hudiksvall. This is a permanent position at 100% with a 6-month probationary period.
