1 position(s). About us Umeå District Court is one of five district courts in the country that serves as a land and environmental court. The district court has approximately 85 employees, of which currently just over 35 people work at the land and environmental court. The court reviews decisions under, among others, the Environmental Code, the Land Formation Act and the Planning and Building Act, and handles as a first instance, among others, matters concerning permits for environmentally hazardous activities and water activities. The jurisdiction of the land and environmental court covers the entire Norrbotten County, the major part of Västerbotten County and a smaller part of Västernorrlands County. The work involves As a legal adviser, you will work with preparing cases, conducting legal investigations, presenting cases for decisions, serving as a minutes taker at oral hearings, drafting proposed judgments and decisions, and deciding cases of a simpler nature yourself. The work takes place in close cooperation with the land and environmental court's judges, technical advisors and court administrators. You who are applying You who are applying must have a law degree and be notary qualified when the position is to be assumed. We place great emphasis on legal competence, judgment and ability to cooperate. It is valuable to have knowledge of the court's areas of law and procedural law as well as a genuine interest in the court's areas of activity. You also enjoy taking personal responsibility for driving cases toward a decision and like to work as a central point of contact in relations within and outside the court. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities. Terms of employment The position is a permanent employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. The work involves travel with overnight stays to some extent. The Swedish Courts apply individual salary setting. Commencement date is by agreement. Special information about your application Your application should consist of a CV, personal letter, grades from the law program and a certificate or reference from your notary service.
