Our facilities are therefore far more than square meters and rental agreements. They are workplaces, learning environments, and meeting places for thousands of people. Now we are seeking a facilities manager who wants to take overall responsibility for these environments while also being part of developing how we use them in the future. About the Assignment As facilities manager, you have overall responsibility for Folkuniversitetet Region Väst's property and premises management work. The assignment includes operations in Värmland, Västra Götaland, and Norra Halland. This means, of course, that our facilities should be safe, well-functioning, sustainable, and cost-effective. But the assignment is also about development. How do we use our facilities in the best way? How can they support new ways of working and learning? How do we create attractive physical meeting places while operational needs change? You will therefore move between long-term strategic questions and things that need to be solved here and now. You work closely with our operations and managers, but also with property owners, suppliers, and other external parties. We believe in leading together. That means you naturally take responsibility for your own assignment, but also that you together with other managers take responsibility for the whole. We believe that the best solutions are created when different perspectives meet, when we share knowledge, and when we dare to engage – in a constructive way – even outside our own area. You lead approximately 8 employees within facilities and services, with support from hourly employees as needed. You have personnel, operational, and financial responsibility and report to the Head of Administration for Finance, Property, and IT. Some parts of your assignment You will, among other things: Develop and implement our property and premises strategy Work long-term with premises management and how we use our facilities in the best way Responsible for budget, forecasts, and follow-up in the area Responsible for rental agreements, renegotiations, and relationships with our property owners Lead premises projects, renovations, moves, and establishments Develop work with operations, maintenance, and service Responsible for procurement, contracts, and supplier management Ensure structured work with fire safety, facility security, alarms, and access systems Together with other parts of the organization contribute to our sustainability efforts, particularly through energy efficiency and wise use of our facilities Produce relevant decision documents and follow-ups Lead and create good conditions for employees within facilities and services And you will likely discover things we haven't thought of yet. We believe you have Relevant academic education in, for example, property management, construction, or technology, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience Several years of experience in qualified property management and premises management work Experience with budget, financial, and personnel responsibility Knowledge of lease law, occupational environment, and systematic fire safety work Experience in project management, procurement, contracts, and supplier management Good digital skills and ability to work systematically with follow-up and decision documents Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing Driver's license category B, as our operations are located in multiple places in the region We will place great emphasis on who you are, how you lead, and how you see the assignment.
