Do you want to develop folkbildning (popular education) that strengthens civil society, engagement, and community throughout Jämtlands län? Here you'll create meeting places, events, and projects that make a real difference for people, associations, and local communities. At Studiefrämjandet, you'll have a broad and independent role where you work with associations, member organizations, and other actors to create opportunities for people to meet, learn, and develop. Studiefrämjandet Norr is now seeking a folkbildning developer based in Östersund with responsibilities across all of Jämtlands län. The Role of Folkbildning Developer As a folkbildning developer, you'll create and develop popular education activities together with member organizations, associations, and study circle leaders within our profile areas of nature, animals, environment, and culture. Social and environmental sustainability perspectives guide the work and provide space to address current societal challenges. The work is varied and offers great freedom to take initiative. One day you meet with an association about a new idea, the next you plan an event, lead a training, or develop a project with local actors. The role is both strategic and operational, requiring you to balance long-term activity development with practical implementation. An important part of your role is to strengthen Studiefrämjandet's presence throughout the county, with special focus on smaller towns and rural areas. Activity development within the animal profile, including dog-related activities, is also part of your responsibilities. Tasks and Areas of Responsibility You'll have good opportunities to take initiative, develop activities, and implement ideas in line with organizational goals and priorities. You'll work closely with member organizations, associations, municipalities, and other community actors to identify different needs and create conditions for local popular education. Your role also includes training and supporting study circle leaders and associations in areas such as popular education pedagogy, group dynamics, and association management. In this role, you'll among other things: Start and develop popular education activities and new meeting places Maintain existing collaborations and create new contacts Coordinate and administer study circles and other activities Organize and participate in events and activities Initiate community-relevant and externally funded projects Follow up on activities and work with budget responsibility Your Profile We're looking for someone with strong community engagement and genuine interest in popular education. You're good at building trust and developing relationships with people and organizations. You take initiative, work systematically, and move work forward both independently and with others. You have good pedagogical and communication skills and feel confident leading and supporting groups as well as driving development processes. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and use digital work and meeting tools fluently. It's an advantage if you can communicate activities on social media and create simple digital content. You also have basic knowledge of financial management. The role offers excellent opportunities to develop within popular education, project management, network building, and activity development. Experience We're looking for someone with post-secondary education in areas such as social sciences, behavioral sciences, pedagogy, humanities, or other fields deemed equivalent by the employer. We expect you to have at least two years of relevant work experience. Experience from study organizations (studieförbund), popular education, civil society, the nonprofit sector, or other association work is a merit. Experience with activity development, external financing, or projects involving collaboration between multiple actors is also a merit. Knowledge of local civil society and contact points within one of our activity areas in the region is an advantage. Experience with dog associations or other actors in the dog sector and good understanding of that sector's target groups is a merit. About the Position This is a full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is as soon as possible by agreement. The position operates with goal-based working hours with an average of 37.5 hours per week. Parts of the work take place in evenings and sometimes on weekends. The employment is covered by the collective agreement for Professionals in Civil Society (Tjänstepersoner inom civilsamhället). We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. The position is based in Östersund. The role involves travel within Jämtlands län and if needed outside the county. A class B driver's license is required.
