About the Position The Test and Evaluation (T&E) test site at Vidsel is part of FMV and has access to Europe's largest test range over land. The test range is located in Lapland and encompasses a cordoned-off, well-guarded low mountain area totaling 1,650 km². Here there is more than 60 years of experience in verification and validation, VoV, of military systems. The test site offers the Swedish Armed Forces and external customers the opportunity to test new weapon systems, conduct exercises, and verify capabilities. The test site features, among other things, advanced air targets, mobile ground targets, technical systems such as radar stations, and various optical systems. We have a broad range of expertise at the test site, and in your role as a Flight Test Director, you will be part of the testing unit that carries out and directs operational test activities. You will work at a workplace that is unique in its design, with excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation as well as hunting and fishing. As a Flight Test Director, you have a key role in conducting flight tests. Your primary responsibility is to lead the test execution, and you have significant authority regarding test design as well as close customer contact with both Swedish and international customers. You prepare, plan, lead, and report on flight test activities and work closely with project managers. You participate in projects where you support the project manager in achieving project objectives. Your responsibilities include creating and executing test setups that meet customer needs and leading dialogue with the customer from a testing perspective, in an operation where much is happening. The position is based in Vidsel, with some opportunity for remote work during certain periods. Travel occurs both within and outside Sweden. The position may be held on a civilian or military basis as YAM (Professional Officer at Another Authority). As a professional officer, you have the opportunity for leave from the Swedish Armed Forces for a fixed-term employment at FMV, by agreement between the agencies). About You We are looking for someone with training as an air operations controller within the Swedish Armed Forces as well as work experience in the field. You also need to have good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as well as a class B driver's license. If you have training as an officer or specialist officer, that is considered meritorious. You must also undergo a flight medical examination with a passing result according to the Swedish Armed Forces' requirements. Personal qualities are very important to us.
