JOB RESPONSIBILITIES At Kulturskolan in Gävle, we are looking for a dedicated violin instructor who wants to inspire a love of music and motivate children and young people in their musical development. From our beginner string groups to advanced level instruction. In the role as violin instructor, work within El Sistema may be included. Our goal is to offer meaningful activities and make the music life in Gävle accessible to every student. Do you want to be part of it? Then you are warmly welcome to join us! Your responsibilities include: • Teach violin both individually and in groups, with a focus on developing students' musical skills. • Engage, inspire and motivate children and young people with violin as their main instrument. • Contribute to an inclusive, safe and positive learning environment for students from different backgrounds. • Plan, conduct and follow up on instruction and music education activities. • Participate in activities during school breaks and, if needed, work evenings and weekends. • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development of the school's pedagogical methods. • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment characterized by diversity. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a dedicated violin instructor who wants to inspire children and young people in their musical learning. You need to be confident in your bow technique and have the ability to motivate students at different levels. We would like to see you use a playful and curious approach, perhaps through creative exercises, rhythm, musical improvisation or other inspiring methods that awaken the desire to learn and explore music. We are looking for you who have: • Secondary school education is a requirement. A degree in pedagogy or music is a merit. • Have good ability to communicate in Swedish. • Demonstrate high professional skill on violin and the ability to inspire and motivate students. • Experience teaching violin to students both in groups and individually. • Training in the Suzuki method is also a merit. To succeed in the role, you are: • Empathetic and responsive, with the ability to see each student and build safe, trusting relationships. • Inspire and motivate students by encouraging joy, development and curiosity in learning. • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to meet each student's individual needs. • Well-organized and skilled at planning and organizing to create engaging and well-functioning lessons. You must be able to provide a police certificate for work in school or preschool. This should not be attached to your application but will be requested from the final candidate. The position includes activities during school breaks, and there may also be work in the evenings and on weekends. Type of employment: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent.
