The Culture School has activities throughout Stockholm, see address and location in the job posting. Welcome to the Culture School In our world, culture is important. We need spaces for culture. Places that provide room for play, creativity and dreams. Spaces where children and young people have the opportunity to discover, develop and express themselves. Spaces for imagination. At the Culture School, children and young people between 6 and 22 years old have the opportunity to create in their free time within music, singing, theater, musical, dance, circus, art and media. Through concerts, performances and other events, students also meet an audience and develop in their creative work. Teaching takes place in our own facilities and in schools throughout Stockholm. Your Role The Culture School's orchestra school focuses on Western classical music and wants to make music and its scenes a natural part of students' lives. Students receive group instruction on their instrument and play together in an orchestra once a week. We are seeking two string/violin teachers for fixed-term positions during the fall semester 2026 with an employment rate of 40-100 percent. You will primarily work with children and young people ages 7-15. The assignment includes planning and conducting instruction as well as collaborating with colleagues in concerts, performances and other activities. You also work with our cultural partners, such as Berwaldhallen, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern and Folkoperan, as well as with staff at the schools where the orchestra school operates. As a teacher in the orchestra school, you are responsible for your student groups and build good relationships with students and guardians. You actively contribute to the development of the activities and participate in meetings and professional development together with colleagues. Your Competence and Experience We're looking for you who have: Documented experience with and interest in group instruction in violin and/or other string instruments. Experience teaching children and young people. Ability to work with group methodology that strengthens both individual and group development. It is advantageous if you have: University degree with violin as the principal instrument. Experience teaching in a culture school or similar activity. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You: Have good pedagogical ability and can adapt instruction to different students' needs. Create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment. Give positive and constructive feedback that promotes student development. Are creative, development-oriented and open to new working methods. Have good collaboration skills and contribute to the overall activities. Have good digital competence and use digital tools in your pedagogical work. Terms Fixed-term employment during the fall semester 2026. Employment rate 40-100%. Weekend work may occur. A certificate from the disclosure register must be presented before employment.
