Responsibilities As a career and academic guidance counselor, you work closely with students throughout their upper secondary education. You provide guidance on educational and career choices, further studies and working life, but your assignment is also about helping students see possibilities, find motivation, and believe in their own future. You are part of the school's student welfare team and contribute your perspective to preventive and promotional work. Together with assistant principals, counselors, school nurses, special educators, specialist teachers, teachers, and other staff, you work to identify early students who need support and find ways forward. The position includes, among other things: conduct individual guidance conversations and work with group guidance and information by year group support and motivate students in their study planning and future choices work closely with students, mentors, teachers, and student welfare participate in the school's work on attendance, motivation, and goal achievement share responsibility with assistant principals regarding point plans, students' study plans, and graduation forecasts inform about educational pathways, requirements, further studies, and the job market contribute a career and academic guidance perspective to the school's systematic quality work collaborate with guardians, other schools, authorities, businesses, and other external actors inform prospective students and career guidance counselors at lower secondary schools about upper secondary studies in general, about our programs in particular, and about possible pathways participate in fairs, open houses, parent meetings, and other information events What We Offer We offer you a varied, responsible, and stimulating job with opportunities for personal development.
