About the Department The Property Department is responsible for management, operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's operational facilities and housing. The property portfolio comprises over 150,000 square meters, primarily schools, preschools, elderly care facilities, and group homes. The department is also responsible for the management of Össebyhus, the municipality's fully-owned non-profit housing company, and for Städservice. With a focus on long-term and sustainable management, pleasant, safe, and functional environments are created that meet both today's and tomorrow's requirements for accessibility, flexibility, comfort, and energy efficiency. The department has broad expertise in, among other things, lease agreements, operation and maintenance, installations, energy work, project management, safety, outdoor environments, and contractor collaborations. The Property Department works in close cooperation with other departments, external actors, and politics. Through technical expertise, long-term planning, and digital working methods, well-functioning properties are ensured that support the municipality's operations and residents. Responsibilities As a property manager, you are part of the technical and property management team where you lead and develop the municipality's property department with responsibility for operations, budget, and employees. You work strategically and long-term on developing the organization, working methods, and property portfolio based on the municipality's and departments' needs. With clear, trust-based, and engaging leadership, you create conditions for development, innovation, sustainability, and quality. A central part of your role is to build good relationships and strengthen cooperation, both within the department and with other departments and external actors. You have a strong holistic perspective, balance strategic and operational needs, and drive change, digitalization, and skills development with the municipality's best interests in focus. The Property Department needs to strengthen the organization's preparedness and crisis management capability to meet increasing demands. This means clearer responsibilities and roles and that you ensure competence and functioning procedures to handle disruptions and events affecting society. Qualifications Relevant education or experience that the employer considers equivalent. Experience in management and leadership with responsibility for operations, budget, and employees. Experience with construction, property management, and other property-related matters. Experience leading strategic development or change initiatives. Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. Meritorious: Experience in management and leadership in a politically governed organization. Experience running operations in-house, such as operations or cleaning services. Experience strengthening operational crisis preparedness.
