At our shipyard in Djupvik on Tjörn, we build and repair specialized aluminum and composite vessels for customers such as the Swedish Maritime Administration, the Swedish Coast Guard, and the Swedish Navy. Job Responsibilities As a ship electrician, you'll experience great variety in your daily work – no two days are the same. In new construction, you'll be involved in planning, installation, cable routing, connections, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of systems. In the navigation field, you'll work with installation and configuration of equipment such as GPS, Gyro, Log, Echo-sounder, AIS, ECDIS, Radar, and GMDSS. You may also train crews and commission systems. In repair operations, work takes place onboard vessels at the shipyard or in the surrounding area, focusing on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. You will, among other things: Install and connect electrical systems according to drawings and specifications Install, configure, and adapt navigation equipment Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical installations onboard Participate in commissioning and testing of new systems Work independently or on-site at the customer's location when needed Our Offer At Swede Ship Marine, you'll have an exciting role in one of the few remaining Swedish shipbuilding environments. You'll work with variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to develop your skills in both electrical installation and navigation. To apply for this position, you must be a trained electrician with experience reading technical drawings. Experience with marine installations is a merit, and we'd be especially pleased if you also have experience troubleshooting complex systems. You need basic knowledge in: Electrical installations onboard ships Electronics Data/IT (Microsoft Windows) Networking and TCP/IP You must also be fluent in Swedish and English and have a valid driver's license (category B). You thrive when developing new solutions based on experience and have no problem managing multiple projects simultaneously.
