Social Services and Employment Description Family counseling is part of Social Services and Employment and offers support to couples, families, and other close relationships. Currently, the operation consists of one full-time family counselor with solid expertise and a strong focus on quality, professionalism, and good service. We see that the need for support and counseling among the municipality's residents is increasing, and we are therefore strengthening the operation by adding another family counselor. Responsibilities As a family counselor, you work with therapeutic treatment, primarily with couples experiencing difficulties in their relationship. The conversations focus on mapping and creating understanding of the situation as well as supporting couples in change, repair, and separation processes. The role also includes preventive and outreach initiatives. You have independent treatment responsibility and work autonomously in your client work, while having a close colleague for support, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other university education that the employer deems equivalent, as well as basic psychotherapy training, level 1. It is meriting and desirable if you have experience working with couples and families, as well as personal experience in your own therapy. It is also meriting if you have education in sexology and family therapy. To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be engaged, responsible, and confident in working independently. Since the operation is small, it is important that you appreciate taking independent responsibility while contributing to good collaboration and knowledge exchange with your colleague.
