We are a joint IFO unit that includes children and youth, adults, functional support, and LSS services. The unit is led by two unit managers who are also primary social workers for their respective areas: children and youth, which includes foster care coordinators, child case workers, and contact coordinators, and adults/functional support/LSS.
Our offices are located in the municipality building in the center of Vårgårda.
We are looking for someone who wants to continue the good social work being done in Vårgårda Municipality and contribute to the future social services based on the new Social Services Act, working together with us with a focus on those we serve.
Our long-serving foster care coordinator has chosen to move on to new tasks in another municipality. She has laid a good and stable foundation for the continued important foster care work.

DUTIES
Within the Children and Youth operations, the foster care coordinator, child case workers, and contact coordinators work in close collaboration with investigative social workers to create safe and sustainable solutions for children and families.
As a foster care coordinator, you are responsible for recruitment, assessment, supervision, and follow-up of foster homes and contact families. Child case workers and contact coordinators collaborate with you on certain parts of the work.
In Vårgårda Municipality, we work based on Signs of Safety in applicable parts according to your work area. We see the core principles of Signs of Safety as important, where participation, respect, and focus on those we serve are central to the work.
Most of your future colleagues have experience in the profession. They are open and unpretentious, creating a workplace characterized by both high competence and a good and warm atmosphere. It is important to us that we help each other, support one another, and maintain good work for the children, youth, and families we meet.
An important part of the work is collaboration both internally and externally. In your work, you have continuous and close support from both your manager/primary social worker and colleagues and participate regularly in method meetings. Everyone who starts at the unit receives an individual introduction plan and in-house training in Signs of Safety. Based on your experience and interests, you are expected to be active in our ongoing development work and continued work with Signs of Safety.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has a social work degree and a genuine commitment to children and youth. You are confident, professional, relationship-building, and have good collaboration skills. You have a good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. We would like you to have experience in foster care work; it is also a merit if you have experience with authority functions in children and youth services and experience working based on Signs of Safety.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date: 2026-10-05.
