About the Role
As a family home consultant, you are a central part of a close and engaged team. You are responsible for a number of foster families and are their most important professional support in their daily work, from recruitment and matching to ongoing supervision and follow-up. The work requires that you thrive with building long-term relationships, making independent decisions, and keeping many processes running in parallel.
You will, among other things:
- Guide and support foster families in their mission, even in complex situations
- Make home visits and follow up on ongoing placements
- Collaborate with social services, schools, and other actors around the child
- Document and report to the commissioning authority
- Recruit, investigate, and match emergency and foster families
- Participate in on-call duty according to a rotating schedule
We are looking for someone who
Has a degree in social work or equivalent higher education degree in social work, preferably with experience in social work with children and young people. You are a secure and solution-oriented person who navigates confidently in complex relationships between foster families, children, biological networks, and social services. You thrive working independently but value close teamwork and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues.
You also have:
- Good knowledge of current legislation, especially the Swedish Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act (LVU)
- The ability to maintain focus and structure even when the pace is high
- A warm and professional manner when meeting with foster families and children
- A driver's license (Category B) and are comfortable driving, as the position involves regular home visits
Meritorious
- Experience in family foster care, investigation, or supervision of foster families
- Training in BBIC, MI, Signs of Safety, or Ett hem att växa i
- Training in assessment methods for foster families, such as Kälvesten
- Supervisor training for foster families
