Family Home Consultant / Social Worker - Umeå

Consilium Individ & Familj is now seeking an experienced social worker for the role of family home consultant based in the Umeå area. About the Role As a family home consultant, you will primarily work with guiding and supporting foster families in their mission to receive children and young people in their homes. The work is independent and involves great freedom to plan your workday. At the same time, we highly value collegial support. We have regular check-ins and supervision in the staff group and also meet in person for staff meetings and training days. Part of the position involves recruiting and assessing new foster families. We use the assessment method Nya Kälvesten. You will also participate in the basic training program Ett hem att växa i. Consilium also provides social consulting services to municipalities. Depending on the organization's needs and your expertise, BBIC assessments and parental support initiatives may be included in your work. Your responsibilities will include: - Regularly visiting foster homes - Guiding and supporting foster families - Responsibility for ongoing documentation and reporting - Maintaining contact and collaborating with social services, care providers, and other relevant actors - When needed, providing supportive interventions for placed children and young people - Recruiting and assessing new foster families - Participating in digital group supervision for our foster families - Participating in supervision and collegial check-ins in the staff group - Contributing to our systematic quality work - Staying updated on matters relevant to our field of work - Working in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, and our quality procedures - Being part of the organization's on-call service Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for you - a social worker with experience working with children and/or young people in foster care, either within social services or in private operations. You enjoy building relationships and feel comfortable meeting with both foster families, placed individuals, social services, and other professional actors. Since the work involves significant freedom, you need to be comfortable taking independent responsibility and planning your own workday. At the same time, we are a small company where we help each other and where humility and collaboration are important. As a person, we believe you are committed, thorough, and solution-focused. You have good interpersonal skills and can adapt when circumstances change. And a plus is actually if you enjoy driving – visits to our foster families mean some of your work time is spent on the road. We are looking for someone with: - A degree in social work - At least two years of experience working with children and/or young people in foster care, within social services or private operations - A valid driver's license (Category B) - Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written We place great emphasis on your ability to express yourself professionally in writing, especially since documentation, reporting to social services, and foster home assessments are important parts of the work. It is advantageous if you have supervisor training with a focus on foster care and/or training in Nya Kälvesten and Ett hem att växa i. We prefer that you live in or near Umeå. Work may sometimes need to be performed outside regular office hours. All family home consultants at Consilium Individ & Familj take turns being responsible for the organization's on-call service. During your on-call week, you will be available by phone outside regular office hours.
