Trygga Familjehem in Sweden AB is now seeking families/individuals who want to help children & youth ages 0-20. We are looking for both foster families and emergency care homes. Being a Foster or Emergency Care Home Being a foster family is interesting, challenging, and above all rewarding! It involves opening the doors to your home, your family, your daily life and offering security, guidelines, rules, and most importantly joy and heart, plus a desire to share your life. This is of course a major responsibility and requires a clear commitment to succeed. This commitment must be shared by all family members, and agreement about what the assignment entails is very important. It is natural that everyone is affected when a new person moves in and becomes part of the family. Please note that a single person can also be an emergency care or foster family home. Most importantly, you must have a genuine interest in helping a child/youth build a better life. You must also be able to collaborate with all parties involved around the placed child/youth, such as school, social workers, foster care consultants, etc. To manage a placement, you need to have a bit extra of everything: space, time, and ability! Our requirements for you to begin a foster family assessment include: - That you do not appear in the police criminal and suspicion register, the social insurance agency's register regarding longer sick leave periods, the enforcement agency's register, and the social register in the past five years - That there is a spare bedroom that can be offered to the placed child, without any family member having to give up their own bedroom. Note that shared spaces do not count as bedrooms. - That your residence is permanent, meaning you do not sublet, are a lodger, or similar. The accommodation is fully furnished and occupied. - That you are in good health and able to work - That you have stable income and support - That at least one of you has time for meetings with social services and our foster care consultants - That you do not have any major upcoming changes in your life, such as moving, extended travel, new studies, pregnancy, or similar - That you speak Swedish Trygga Familjehem Supports, Guides & Educates As a foster family, you will receive Trygga Familjehem's basic training for foster families. The goal is to make the placement as good as possible for the placed child and for the foster family. Our consultants are always available for ongoing guidance and training to the family during the placement. Your foster care consultant visits you regularly; you have close collaboration in everything related to the placed child, such as implementation plans and contacts with authorities. To help you, we offer 24/7 phone support for any questions. Trygga Familjehem's approach and attitude is to be available, provide support, help, ideas, and motivation! Good Financial Compensation Opening your home to a child, youth, or young adult is not about money, but about helping someone who needs a safe and stable life. However, you should still receive fair compensation for the work you do. Compensation is paid in two parts: a cost allowance of approximately 6,500 kr/month to cover food, clothing, travel, etc., and a fee for the work you perform. The fee varies from 26,000 kr/month and upward depending on the complexity of the placement.
