The target group is students in grades F-9 with repeated school absences who risk not reaching their academic goals. As a family therapist in our school social team (SST), you'll work in a collaboration model between school and social services. This is a temporary position until May 2027, with a possible opportunity for extension. The school social team is part of the Children and Youth Prevention and Promotion area, which is part of the social services within Kungsholmen's district administration. The area consists of three units: one with a reception group, social workers at the police station, and an SSPF coordinator; one with leisure and park play activities; and one unit consisting of SST, family therapists at the parent reception center, and field assistants. Your role As a family therapist in the school social team, you'll work with students in grades F–9 who have repeated or long-term school absences. The goal is to help more children return to school, develop, and reach their goals. Your role includes, based on the family's needs: Working in a team with three other family therapists/school social workers, a special educator, and a school psychologist Providing treatment support to children and guardians Responsibility for structured change work toward established goals Strengthening relationships, communication, and functioning routines in the family Providing psychoeducation and supporting social activation when needed Coordinating interventions together with school, healthcare, and other important partners Working based on evidence within the team's work model Contributing to developing the school social team's methods You work independently and in close collaboration with the other professionals in the team and with the school. Together with family therapists, special educator, and school psychologist, you work toward the common goal that each student has the conditions to succeed in school. Your competence and experience We're looking for someone who has: A degree in social work (Socionomexamen) Worked with the target group of parents, children, and young people Good knowledge of social services work with children and young people We consider it advantageous if you have: Basic psychotherapy training (level 1 training) And if you have experience working: As a family therapist With children and young people with problematic school absences With children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities In preventive work With BBIC, Komet, ABC In the recruitment process, we'll place great emphasis on personal suitability and the following personal abilities and skills: As a family therapist in SST, it's crucial that you can work transparently, independently, and flexibly.
