The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a state agency responsible for individually tailored involuntary care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages secure youth residential care. SiS Youth Home Eknäs receives school-aged boys ages 12-16 years with psychosocial challenges, delinquency, and substance abuse issues. The institution has 4 departments: one MBB (Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care) department, two secure treatment units—one of which specializes in treating youth with boundary-violating sexual behavior—and one open treatment unit. As a new employee with us, you will receive comprehensive orientation, foundational training, and continuing education in areas such as safety, unauthorized influence, conflict management, first aid, and more. As a Family Treatment Specialist, you will also complete additional training relevant to the position, which takes place in Stockholm or Gothenburg. Job Description We are seeking a family treatment specialist to work with the families and networks of placed boys ages 12-16. The role includes work with both biological families and professional networks. Work tasks are varied and include family therapeutic interventions, psychoeducational efforts, parent training, participation in network meetings, and follow-ups. Close contact with the youth and treatment staff on the units is also part of the role. Work is conducted in teams created around each youth, which include a psychologist, treatment secretaries, treatment pedagogues, nurses, and teachers. You will have considerable opportunity to design and plan your workday independently, but flexibility is required—finding solutions such as working through digital communication or meeting families in their homes. The quality unit currently consists of a nurse, psychologist, treatment secretary, and family treatment specialist, which promotes collegial learning and experience sharing. As a family treatment specialist, you work with the placed boys and their families. The role is challenging and rewarding—you have the chance to make a difference! If you also have experience with psychosocial challenges, functional disabilities, or treatment-focused training in family and child work, we consider that an asset. Your personal qualities, knowledge, and abilities carry equal weight to formal qualifications. - You have an academic degree as a social worker (socionom) or behavioral scientist, or another similar higher education degree combined with relevant experience - It is meriting to have Step 1 training in psychotherapy or equivalent experience in family work under supervision - Class B driver's license, as travel may be required in the position At SiS, we value good collegial relationships.
