Expert Support in Building Structures for the Västlänken Department Kraftsam Rekrytering & Bemanning is seeking an experienced expert in building structures for the Swedish Transport Administration's (Trafikverket) Västlänken department for a long-term and socially important consulting assignment in Göteborg. The assignment involves specialist support in concrete structures in one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects, where the consultant will contribute technical expertise during both the design and implementation phases. The assignment starts no later than 2026-10-01 with the possibility of an earlier start after contract signing. About the Company Trafikverket is responsible for long-term planning of the transport system for road traffic, rail traffic, maritime transport, and aviation. The Västlänken department currently encompasses the Västlänken program, the Pilekrogen project, and the Sävenäs project. Västlänken is one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects and includes, among other things, an approximately eight-kilometer railway for commuter and regional trains in a tunnel beneath central Göteborg with three new underground stations. About the Role We are seeking a consultant for a position as expert support in concrete structures for the Västlänken department. The assignment involves serving as technical expert support during both the design and implementation phases, as well as contributing to robust, cost-effective, and production-adapted solutions in complex construction projects. Work takes place in close collaboration with design management, contractors, consulting engineers, and other relevant parties. Travel to the site office in Göteborg is included as needed by the operation. Role and Responsibilities Support Trafikverket during design and development of construction documents regarding concrete structures. Serve as Trafikverket's representative in working forums and technical discussions with consultants, contractors, and external parties. Contribute to the selection and design of technical solutions for concrete structures, such as reinforcement design, material selection, casting sequences, and 3D model coordination. Identify and plan technically, economically, and productionally optimized structural solutions. Review and evaluate technical solutions and propose alternative designs as needed. Ensure that solutions are adapted to the projects' production requirements and buildability. Participate in the review of documents based on buildability and applicable requirements. Support production and construction management during the implementation phase in case of deviations, changes, and technical issues. Participate in technical dialogues and development of decision-making materials. Identify problem areas and provide advice on preventive and corrective measures. Competence Requirements 1. Academic education in construction or civil engineering of 300 hp (civil engineer) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2. At least 10 years of documented experience in structural design work in construction projects with concrete structures. 3. At least 5 years of documented experience in designing concrete structures for contractors during the last 10 years in total contracts or implementation contracts with a high degree of parallel design. 4. Experience with production-critical structural details such as reinforcement solutions, material selection, casting sequences, and 3D model coordination with a focus on buildability. 5. At least 5 years of documented experience providing technical support to contractors during the construction phase in at least one construction project with a project cost exceeding 1 billion kronor. 6. Good knowledge of Eurocode and its application in Sweden. 7. Good knowledge of Trafikverket's technical regulations, particularly TRVK Bro 11 and TRVK Tunnel 11. 8. Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. 9. Good skills in Microsoft Office. Value-Added Requirements 1. At least 3 years of documented experience providing technical support to contractors or clients during the construction phase in at least one construction project with temporary concrete structures (slurry walls and secant piles) for deep excavations in loose clay in complex urban environments. 2. At least 3 years of documented experience providing technical support to contractors or clients during the construction phase in at least one construction project with concrete structures containing tunnel and/or trough structures with a project cost exceeding 1 billion kronor. Assignment Information Assignment start: No later than 2026-10-01, with possibility of earlier start after contract signing. Assignment period: Two initial contract years with the possibility of extensions. Scope: Approximately 50-100% of annual work time during the two initial contract years, with varying utilization. Placement location: Göteborg. Travel to the client's site office in Göteborg occurs as needed for the assignment.
