About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more staff. Our most important goal is to reduce reoffending – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transport. The expert position will be placed at the Treatment Section, which is organized under the Unit for Treatment, Work and Studies within the Department for Content and Development. The Treatment Section's task is to support and develop crime prevention work across the Prison and Probation Service's operations. This includes developing and updating the Service's treatment programs, disseminating knowledge and information on treatment matters, coordinating and monitoring the supportive environment at facilities, overseeing matters related to purchased care and treatment, managing the allocation of government grants and fund resources, administering oversight boards, and training program leaders. This position includes work on parts of treatment program development. Job Description The work involves developing new treatment programs and adapting externally developed treatment programs to Swedish corrections. A large part of the work consists of writing comprehensive program and theory manuals and other program documents that meet the scientific standard required for a treatment program to achieve accreditation. This includes environmental scanning and literature searches in the treatment field, as well as planning and leading development assignments from program concept through pilot implementation with monitoring and evaluation. You will also further develop and quality-assure already accredited treatment programs in line with current research findings. In the expert role, you will also analytically formulate and monitor national strategies and action plans for the Prison and Probation Service's treatment activities. The position involves a great deal of independent work, combined with collaboration both internally and externally. We are looking for someone who has: An academic degree with a focus on social and behavioral sciences Experience with independent work on tasks requiring planning, coordination, quality assurance, and monitoring Experience in driving development projects or qualified assignments Experience with qualified investigative work, environmental scanning, and literature searches Experience writing extensive, coherent texts in the form of reports, manuals, or similar Very strong ability to switch between strategic perspectives and complex tasks to handling questions of a more directly operational nature Very strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish Very strong ability to build texts based on scientific literature and proven clinical experience, and to switch between writing at a high academic level and in a way adapted for clients, patients, students, or similar Good ability to read professional literature in English It is also advantageous to have: Other education with a treatment focus that the Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Multiple years of work experience in care and treatment with the Prison and Probation Service or related client groups Experience from the Prison and Probation Service's treatment operations Experience working with training and supervision in treatment programs Experience planning and implementing evaluations, including developing research questions, study designs, data collection, and analysis Knowledge of statistical software for quantitative data analysis Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to eliminate the cover letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
