About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for correctional institutions, probation services, remand prisons, and prisoner transport. The position of expert for probation services is located within the Corrections Services Planning Division. The division's primary mission is to develop and coordinate national leadership, management, and monitoring of probation service activities. The division is responsible for developing structures and creating conditions for short and long-term capacity development in probation services, civil preparedness work, and handling of individual client matters within the IÖV and conditional release programs to support local operations. Job Description As an expert with an economic focus, you will have overall responsibility for the probation service's budget process and ensure sustainable and purpose-appropriate key metrics for resource allocation. You will ensure that organizational changes, new legislation, and new working methods are financed, and that resource allocation keys and the budget process are well anchored in operations. You will contribute to identifying and analyzing issues of strategic importance for a well-functioning probation service. In your role as an expert, you will also support the division director in driving and developing work with national assignments aimed at developing probation services in line with the agency's long-term priorities. The assignment includes independently and in collaboration with others developing qualified documentation, conducting analyses, and preparing proposals for strategic development, with particular focus on conditions for and financing of proposed development initiatives. Additionally, you will coordinate and drive change initiatives within the probation services area, including establishing and developing collaboration with experts within other operational areas and organizational levels. The work involves close collaboration with managers and experts within different parts of the operations, as well as identifying, planning, and creating conditions for dialogue and cooperation with employee organizations. We are seeking someone who has: An academic degree of at least 180 credits Several years of experience converting operations into resources and key metrics for resource allocation Experience with Swedish Prison and Probation Service operations Experience with qualified investigative work Experience with process-oriented working methods Experience with independent work at a strategic level requiring planning, analysis, coordination, and monitoring Very good computer skills Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish It is also meritorious to have: Experience as a manager with operational and budget responsibility Experience with work requiring collaboration and/or coordination with experts within other subject areas or organizational levels than your own Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions that are relevant to the position.
