Event & Conference Host/Hostess with a sense for service and technology Scope: Full-time 100% Location: Strömstad Spa & Resort AB Working hours: Varying (day, evening and weekends) Application deadline: 26/7 2026 Are you a person who loves to provide world-class service, has an eye for detail and enjoys a role where no two days are the same? Do you want to be the face of our resort and ensure that our guests' meetings and conferences are a success? Then we might be looking for you! About the role As a conference host/hostess with us, you have overall responsibility for ensuring that our conference facilities are always in top condition. You are our face to the outside world – you move around on the floor among the guests, welcome them when they arrive and are quickly at hand throughout their stay. You also handle emails and telephone calls. Your main responsibilities: Hosting and guest contact: Receive and welcome groups to the venue. You are visible and present on the floor to proactively help guests with questions and requests. Administration: Assist with answering questions, receive changes and manage booking details via email and phone. Meeting preparations and signage: Prepare for group check-ins and ensure that the correct signage is posted at the conference facilities so that guests can easily find their way. Furniture and reset: Set up and customize conference rooms according to customer wishes (e.g. cinema seating, U-shaped arrangement or classroom seating) and reset them after the meeting is finished. Detail focus and equipment: Ensure that notepads, pens, fresh water and possibly refreshments/fruit are available. You are also responsible for rolling in and setting up additional materials and equipment such as flip charts (flipovers), whiteboards and other requested materials. Technology responsibility: Start up, test functionality and assist guests with technology (projectors, sound systems, screens, hybrid meetings/Teams/Zoom etc.). You are the one who solves the problem if the technology fails. Comfort and order: Ongoing cleaning, wiping down and general tidiness in and around conference facilities and break areas. Who are you? To thrive in the role, you are a distinct service-minded person who is outgoing, attentive and flexible. You love personal interaction and are comfortable communicating professionally both face-to-face, in writing and by phone. Since our operations are dynamic and adapt to our customers' needs, the position involves varying working hours distributed over daytime, evenings and weekends. As the role involves a lot of movement and rearranging of furniture, you should also enjoy physically active work. We are looking for you who: Have experience from service professions (e.g. hotel, conference, reception, restaurant or similar). Have good communication skills and enjoy handling customer contact via both email and phone. Have a strong technical interest and feel confident handling and troubleshooting presentation technology, sound and image. Are flexible with working hours and enjoy working days, evenings and weekends. Speak and write Scandinavian languages. Are stress-resilient and can maintain calm and a smile even when the pace is high. Meritorious: If you have previous experience in conference or stage technology.
