About the Position We are now recruiting an EU Economist for a state agency in Stockholm. In this role, you will primarily work with financial administration related to research and grant-funded projects, with a focus on EU-financed projects. Your responsibilities will include budget and forecast monitoring, reporting to funders, and work with budgets and forecasts. You will also collaborate closely with project managers and department heads. The position includes the following tasks: - Ongoing bookkeeping. - Year-end closing procedures. - Requisitioning. - Reporting to funders. - Project administration. - Project budgeting. - Monitoring and forecasting related to these. - Budget and forecast work. - Close collaboration with project managers and department heads. Assignment Period and Scope: The EU Economist position is a full-time consulting assignment starting immediately and is expected to run for 12 months. There is a possibility of extension. Requirements for the Position: • Bachelor's degree in economics or work experience that the agency deems equivalent. • Experience working with accounting and monitoring. • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Both languages are required in daily work. • Good knowledge of the Office package. • Experience with business systems (for example, Agresso, SAP, or similar). • Ability to provide two (2) reference assignments completed in the last three years (since August 2023) with a detailed assignment description and current contact information for the references. Meritorious for the Position: - Experience working independently within EU-financed projects. - Good knowledge of EU regulations and financing systems for research projects. - Experience with similar tasks from universities/higher education institutions or other research-intensive state agencies or organizations. - Experience working with budget and forecast. - Experience supporting management in financial matters. - Experience working in Agresso. About You We are looking for someone who is service-oriented, independent, structured, and quality-conscious. You have good communication skills and can explain financial concepts in a clear and pedagogical way to different audiences. Additionally, you have pedagogical insight and the ability to adapt your communication to the recipient's needs.
