About the role
We are seeking someone with a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in ethnology, cultural heritage studies, or equivalent qualification. We value experience working as an ethnologist at a museum or similar institution. You should have good computer skills and strong knowledge of Swedish and English—both spoken and written. A Class B driver's license is required as the position involves travel within the county. A doctoral degree in ethnology, cultural heritage studies, or related fields is a merit. We also value knowledge of Sweden's national minority languages, technical skills in photography and audio recording, documented experience as a project manager, and work with diversity and minority issues.

What you'll be doing
Your position involves working with all of the museum's departments and areas of activity, including archaeology, building conservation, collections, archives, and public programs.
You will be responsible for and lead Norrbottens Museum's work with contemporary documentation. This work spans the entire museum based on the museum's activity planning. In your role, you will lead the museum's documentation group, which is composed of members from different departments. The group plans and carries out annual documentation projects according to established plans. You will actively participate in developing collection strategies for Norrbotten's intangible and tangible cultural heritage, connected to the museum's cultural environment work, archives, and collections.
You will participate to varying degrees in Norrbottens Museum's exhibition productions, for example through background research, designing related collection work, or in some cases as a producer.
You will work on qualified knowledge development and knowledge communication, for example through our cultural environment blog, our digital channels, and lectures. We hope you will take initiative in project applications, actively participate in museum-wide working groups, and collaborate broadly with civil society and other stakeholders in the county. You are expected to participate in ethnological networks where you take initiative in collaboration projects, lead and communicate partnerships in relation to the museum's needs and planned initiatives.
The position involves travel within the county and sometimes multi-day stays away from your work location during the work week.

About the position
We offer a permanent full-time position with daytime hours. Start date by agreement. Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
