As a traffic coordinator with a special focus on freight, you play a key role in ensuring mobility, traffic safety, and sustainable transportation solutions during ongoing urban development. You contribute to ensuring that public transportation, business transport, and everyday travel function smoothly even in dense urban environments where different interests and modes of transportation need to coexist. You are part of the Traffic and Mobility unit, where expertise in traffic, mobility, design, and social sustainability work together. Together with engaged colleagues, you work on urban development projects from detailed to strategic level. You are a specialist in freight matters and support both traffic coordinators and project managers with questions concerning traffic planning, design, and future freight transport in the city. Your expertise contributes to solutions that work both today and in the long term. Work Tasks In this role, you work closely with the Swedish Transport Administration, Västtrafik, and other stakeholders within and outside the city. You drive matters independently and together with others, with a focus on coordination, holistic perspective, and good collaboration. Examples of work tasks: Coordinate the city's construction and infrastructure projects based on overall traffic impact and ensure mobility for prioritized traffic modes. Review and quality assure traffic management principles in urban development and infrastructure projects. Assess traffic impact and manage conflicts between different traffic modes and user groups. Contribute specialized expertise in freight matters in development and infrastructure projects, particularly related to the construction phase. Plan and conduct knowledge-building initiatives within freight and urban development. Develop the city's working methods, processes, and approaches to integrate freight issues in planning and implementation. Participate in the city's cross-departmental freight group together with the Development Administration, Urban Environment Administration, and Urban Planning Administration. Qualifications For this position, we expect you to have higher education in civil engineering or other education/experience that the employer considers equivalent. You should have experience within the traffic field and/or construction of infrastructure projects, as well as freight matters. Merits include: Experience with analyses, traffic investigations, and traffic planning/traffic coordination in urban environments Knowledge of freight in urban development Knowledge of public transportation Since the work involves many internal and external contact points, it is important that you have very good collaboration skills and are responsive. The work is complex, which requires analytical ability and an understanding of the bigger picture. We see that you are thorough in your work and have an ability to drive matters independently. You need to be able to communicate a message pedagogically to large groups and generally have good verbal and written communication skills.
