Description We are seeking a municipal lawyer for the Legal Affairs & Procurement unit. Legal Affairs & Procurement organizationally belongs to the Administration, with a focus on Security. As a municipal lawyer, you provide legal support to the administration and to the political organization. The internal legal expertise is complemented as needed with contracted lawyers and legal professionals. In addition to providing legal support to the municipality's operations and companies, the unit is responsible for the municipality's procurement and purchasing organization. Besides the Administration, the municipal organization in Kungälvs is divided into three sectors. In this recruitment, we are seeking a municipal lawyer who will largely support the central administrative management and the Society and Development sector. Duties As a municipal lawyer, you provide legal support to the municipality's administration and political bodies in various legal matters, review contracts, act as counsel in legal proceedings, and assist in various types of negotiations, write service memoranda, respond to referrals with legal relevance, and more. You conduct training for staff members and elected officials in legal matters. You work independently and manage your cases under your own responsibility, but you are also part of a legal team consisting of two municipal lawyers, three administrative lawyers, and the head of the unit. The tasks for this position will primarily focus on issues affecting the Society and Development sector, including municipal law, real estate law, and contract law. Matters relating to social law, education legislation, and corporate law will also occur. Qualifications We are seeking someone who has a law degree and at least five years of experience in qualified legal work in a municipality, municipal company, state authority, law firm, or court. You are thorough, driven, and can communicate in Swedish in a correct, clear, and instructive manner both verbally and in writing. You have integrity and enjoy collaborating with people from other backgrounds and experiences to achieve common goals. You thrive in a consulting role and working in a politically governed organization. The work pace can periodically be high and the issues highly varied. To be considered for this position, you must have experience providing qualified legal support in one of the areas of municipal law, real estate law, and/or contract law. It is also a merit if you have experience with contract drafting and contract negotiations, as well as knowledge and experience in corporate law. Great importance will be placed on your personal qualities. Recruitment Process During weeks 28–30, the recruiting manager will be on vacation. Thereafter, any questions about the position will be answered from week 31 onwards. Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 34–35. At the interview, you will meet the recruiting manager and the head of the Society and Development sector. Psychological tests will be used as part of the recruitment process.
