Environmental & Energy Manager
Stora Enso – Wood Products
Would you like to work in an operation where sustainability, energy, and continuous improvement are a natural part of everyday work?
We are now seeking an Environmental & Energy Manager for our sawmill – a role for someone who wants to combine technology, environmental work, and operational development in an industry where you can truly make a difference.
With us, you'll take on a key role in developing and driving the sawmill's work in environmental, energy, and sustainability matters – close to production, operations, and people.
About the role
As Environmental & Energy Manager, you are responsible for developing, coordinating, and following up on the sawmill's environmental and energy work. You ensure that operations comply with regulatory requirements, permits, and certifications while driving improvements in energy efficiency, resource use, and sustainable production.
The role is both strategic and operational. One day you work on regulatory reporting or audits, the next day you're out in operations driving improvement initiatives together with the production team.
You'll become an important part of the sawmill's continued development and work closely with both local management and the group's sustainability functions.
Examples of work tasks
Responsible for the sawmill's environmental permits and regulatory reporting

Who are you?
We believe you are a person who enjoys taking responsibility, driving matters forward, and creating structure in complex processes. You find it easy to collaborate with others and feel comfortable both out in operations and in dialogue with authorities or external parties.
To succeed in the role, you need to have:
Post-secondary education in energy, environment, or another relevant field, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience
Experience with environmental and energy work in industry or process operations
Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and experience with management systems and certifications
A structured and analytical approach to work
Very strong ability to communicate in Swedish and good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have previously worked in the wood, process, or manufacturing industry.
What we offer
With us, you'll take on an important role in an operation where sustainability is high on the agenda and where there are great opportunities to influence and develop ways of working.
You'll be part of a global group with a strong focus on innovation, safety, and sustainable development – while working close to the local operation and seeing the impact of your work in everyday tasks.
We offer a varied and developmental role where you get to work broadly on environmental, energy, and improvement initiatives together with engaged colleagues.
