The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages closed youth care. We operate youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse problems throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog receives non-school-age girls with psychosocial problems, substance abuse issues, and self-harm problems. The institution is tasked with providing care for girls with special care needs. Job Description If you want to develop as a leader while staying close to staff and youth, you should work as a unit manager at SiS. As a unit manager, you have an important role. You are part of the institution's management group and lead and distribute work on your unit. Budget and personnel matters are on your desk, as is the responsibility for ensuring that evidence-based methods are implemented in treatment. You collaborate internally with many different professional groups, and you are naturally close to clients and youth on your unit. You have an exciting role with significant responsibility. It is you who help staff grow and develop in their work. The agency works to develop the unit manager role so they have the authority and resources to take on the responsibility inherent in the role. The institution is undergoing an ongoing organizational change that brings special challenges related to collaboration between different units. You will be responsible for an open department and a discharge-preparation department located in Helsingborg. This means you will work both at Ljungaskog and in Helsingborg. In addition to daily unit work, you are also responsible for: Personnel, work environment, finances, and operations. Leading method development, documentation, and follow-up. You are part of the institution's management group and shall, in addition to unit responsibility, work for the institution's development. You are also part of the institution's management on-call according to a rotating schedule, which means you have an on-call response time of 1 hour. To assist you, you have several colleagues, a treatment secretary, and department staff consisting of treatment pedagogues and treatment assistants. All unit managers are part of an internal network with colleagues in the same professional role who meet at regular training days. Qualifications At SiS, we value good leadership. This means that you as a manager and leader take responsibility for the whole, act as a good role model, drive development, promote good cooperation, and are clear in your communication. You must have an academic education of at least 180 credits that provides the foundation to adequately handle the above work tasks. A degree in social work, social science, or behavioral science, or other higher education deemed equivalent may be considered. You must also have documented experience working as a manager/leader with overall responsibility for personnel, work environment, finances, and operations. Multi-year experience working at SiS. Experience with the KAJ documentation system. Experience working in Besched and Primula. Good knowledge of SiS legal guidelines. Good knowledge and experience working with SiS Ljungaskog's target group. As well as holding a B-category driver's license and having a maximum 1-hour on-call response time during standby. Meritorious: Leadership experience from work in substance abuse care, institutional care, social services, or equivalent. Experience working with the target group or experience in social services or psychiatry. Experience working with authority functions. Personal Qualities: You are structured and clear in your leadership. Can create good cooperation both within the institution and with our partners. Have the ability to engage your staff and create a work climate characterized by participation, development, and work satisfaction. You have an unpretentious approach and practice mature leadership through the ability to balance the agency's, the personnel group's, and the clients' goals and needs.
