The Authority Unit for Care and the Elderly within the Care and Social Services Administration is responsible for providing support to people with disabilities and the elderly who need support in their daily lives. The authority employs benefits officers, team leaders, unit managers, and various support functions. In your role as unit manager, you will have the opportunity to lead skilled employees, drive operational development, and contribute to a modern, legally secure, and efficient authority. We are seeking a unit manager who will oversee three different teams: Care Billing, which informs, calculates, and makes decisions about care and social service fees Administration, which is responsible for authority-wide administration and managerial support Compliance and Control, which ensures correct reimbursements, works against welfare fraud, and is responsible for handling sick leave costs within personal assistance and dental care support. The role includes personnel, work environment, and operational responsibility for approximately 15 employees with different professions, such as administrators, case handlers, and team leaders. As a manager in Uppsala Municipality, you have support from the municipal management office's departments in finance, HR, communication, work environment, and IT. Your assignment An important part of the assignment is to lead and drive development work with a focus on quality, digitalization, and efficient working methods. You actively work to develop routines, processes, and working methods that strengthen legal security, service, and operational quality. You also participate in coordination and prioritization that extends beyond the unit's boundaries. The assignment is varied and gives you great opportunity to plan and prioritize your work based on operational needs. Through present, coaching, and trust-based leadership, you create conditions for employees to develop and succeed in their assignments. You inspire engagement, collaboration, and responsibility-taking while driving the business forward toward set goals. Together with the area manager and 9 management colleagues, you are part of the area's management team, where you work together for the entire department's common goal achievement. Your background We are looking for someone with several years of management experience and a university degree in an area that the employer deems relevant for the position. The position requires experience from a state or municipal authority. Experience with public authority functions is meriting. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and are experienced in working in a digital environment.
