You do this both directly and indirectly through close collaboration with and for our staff groups. These work groups are located in central Krokom and in nearby Nälden. The Social Services Department consists of 600 employees where the breadth of the assignment is comprehensive. The department is divided into five operational areas and is present throughout the municipality. We are responsible for providing care and support, services and assistance as well as health and medical care to the municipality's residents who need it, at all stages of life. A day as a unit manager at Support and Services As a unit manager, you are responsible for 1–3 staff groups of varying sizes. You lead the daily operations and have responsibility for operations, work environment, personnel, staffing and budget. The role also involves planning, following up and developing operations based on goals, guidelines and legislation. The work is varied and consists of both meetings at different workplaces as well as administrative work at the office. The assignment is diverse, meaningful and provides room for both structure and creativity. You will be part of the management group and work closely with other unit managers and other team members in our organization. The Operations Manager is your direct manager. The management group operates from office premises in central Krokom where we meet for joint meetings at least once a week. In these meetings, you participate together with your four unit manager colleagues and every other week also with the operations manager. Just as we expect our employees to collaborate to succeed with their assignments, we think the same way with managers - you are not strong alone. To succeed with the assignment, you will have close support from your manager colleagues and your employees. When it comes to staffing short-term absences, we have a central staffing pool, which is being upgraded to meet the requirements and working methods that have been decided in connection with new staffing and scheduling procedures that are being implemented. As a complement and resource to managers and operations, there is operational support in the form of operations development roles and more administrative nature.
