The Eye Care Unit (VE) belongs to the Operational Area (VO) for dermatology, reproductive medicine, and eye care. The unit has approximately 250 employees at our facilities in Malmö and Lund. In addition, we provide regional care for Halland, Kronoberg, and Blekinge. Our work is at the forefront regarding both basic and specialist training for physicians. We also conduct outstanding research in close collaboration with Lund University. The Eye Care Clinic in Malmö is a smaller workplace with a strong focus on quality, development, and engagement. Here, 20 nurses, nursing assistants, eye care nurses, opticians, orthoptists, and a photographer work together. DUTIES As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, work environment, and finances. You are tasked with leading the daily work, and an important part of this is being present for your staff. You also work to promote good interdisciplinary collaboration. We work forward-thinking, and together with your fellow managers, you participate in and develop strategic work in our middle management group. This group is responsible for leading personnel work that brings out the best in each individual. We work toward a competent and pleasant work environment that ensures a workplace characterized by quality and safety for our patients. Sustainable planning, skills management, and clear responsibility distribution are our shared focus. You are expected in your role to be well-informed and to take great responsibility for driving both your own unit and the shared operations forward. The area manager will be your supervisor. As a manager leading employees, you take your operations in the expected direction toward operational goals. Your employees' engagement is crucial to success in your role, and you value coaching, providing feedback, evaluating performance, promoting collaboration, and creating a good work climate. Together with your employees, you develop operations through effective working methods with high quality and continuously follow up for learning and further development. In combination with the administrative work as a unit manager, you have the opportunity to work clinically with us, which gives you valuable closeness to the operations and patients. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily looking for someone with nursing training or another relevant education in healthcare with the authorization to work in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are required. It is highly meritorious if you have previous management and/or leadership experience, as well as relevant education in leadership. We also view it positively if you have broad experience working in healthcare. As a person, you are confident in your professional role and driven to lead and develop people. You work with ease both independently and in groups with your colleagues. Your communication skills and interest in people make it easy for you to create good relationships and collaboration both within and outside the unit. Your leadership is characterized by an enthusiastic approach. You understand the value of recognizing your employees' work efforts and development and have the ability to lift others, create positive energy, and lead by example in your daily work. At the same time, you are goal- and results-oriented with a focus on driving operations forward. As a manager, you are attentive and understanding. You are clear in your communication and can set boundaries for both yourself and the work group.
