The Social Services Department's mission is to meet people's needs for security. As a unit manager, we expect you to lead the operations towards set goals in a positive and committed manner, with responsibility for finances, personnel, work environment and service quality. You will be part of the management group for special housing and are expected to actively participate in the department's development work. An important part of the work is to help employees grow and develop by increasing opportunities for influence and participation. As a unit manager, you represent the employer and are a good role model. You communicate our values, Respect, Responsibility and Collaboration in the organization. Your leadership is relationship-building and you have confidence in employees' commitment and willingness to take responsibility. You leverage and develop employees' competence and keep your staff engaged and involved in the operations. Close leadership where you balance management, presence in operations with administration is an important part of the unit manager role. QUALIFICATIONS We would like you to have higher education relevant to the field and deemed appropriate by the employer for the position. We also see that you have experience with personnel, financial and operational responsibility and are familiar with the legislation governing our field of operations. It is considered a merit if you have worked in elderly care and have experience from a leadership position previously. You are open to change and interested in leading and developing operations. We see that you are someone who is good at motivating, inspiring and developing people. In your role as unit manager, you take on a coaching close leadership and promote collaboration, influence and participation in the daily work at your unit. You have a natural ability to spread joy at work and help your employees develop and grow. You also have close collaboration with your colleagues. As a person, you have a trustworthy manner and an ability to create good, long-term relationships. You lead and follow up on operations in a methodical way with great user focus and ensure that conditions, requirements and expectations are clear. To thrive in the role, we see that you are confident, self-directed, strategic and have good decision-making skills. Attentiveness and communicative ability are also qualities you should possess. B driver's license is a requirement. It is considered a merit if you have knowledge of Finnish, Sami and/or Meänkieli. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We apply a fixed-term management agreement in combination with a permanent employment contract within the municipality. Employment type: Permanent employment.
