Right now we are in one of our most exciting phases – we are actively participating in the planning of the new acute care hospital in Västerås, which will be completed in 2029. With us, you have the opportunity to take the next step and apply your expertise in a new context. Duties As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, staff, and finances. You lead the work of developing the unit so that it is efficient, high-quality, and sustainably long-term – from both an operational and work environment perspective. You are given a clear mandate but also significant freedom to shape how the goals are achieved. Your leadership will be decisive in creating engagement, structure, and momentum in the operations. A central part of the assignment is to develop collaboration with healthcare operations and ensure that medical technology meets their needs – today and in the future. You work in an environment with many contact points and represent both your unit and Region Västmanland in various contexts, working closely with other managers in the organization. About the Workplace Medical Technology (MT) is part of Region Västmanland and consists of approximately 20 employees. We are responsible for service and support of medical technology equipment and medical information systems at the county's hospitals and health centers. Training in developmental leadership or other management training, as well as training and knowledge in work environment matters are merit-enhancing. Furthermore, we would like to see that you have experience with medical technology in healthcare or equivalent, such as industry, technical service, IT, or other complex operations. If you have experience in personnel management and experience leading development and improvement initiatives, we see that as an advantage. Also meritorious are knowledge of leadership, systematic work environment practices, basic economics and budgeting, and basic labor law. Our work is governed by documents that are often in Swedish and you therefore need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
