Ref: 20261673 The Social Services is undergoing extensive development and transformation where new legal requirements, changed assignments, and increased demands for management, follow-up, and quality place high demands on the operations. We are now seeking a unit manager who wants to lead and further develop the financial work in Sweden's largest employment and social affairs administration. Key Responsibilities As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for leading, coordinating, and ensuring quality in the administration's operational financial work. The assignment includes planning and management of the administration's processes for budget, follow-up, and reporting, as well as ensuring qualified and operations-focused financial support to managers and operations. You contribute to the development of the administration's financial management and resource allocation to create efficient and operations-adapted management. You are also responsible for developing the unit's internal structures by coordinating and streamlining processes, support systems, and routines. An important part of the assignment is to clarify roles, working methods, and competency requirements within the unit to ensure the right conditions and competence over time. Through active environmental monitoring, you identify opportunities for development and improvement and drive change work that strengthens the organization's ability to meet future needs. An important part of the role is to build and develop close collaborations with operations, managers, and support functions to ensure proactive, coordinated, and operations-focused support. You have overall management responsibility for the unit's operations, finances, personnel, and working environment. The role reports directly to the administration's Finance Manager and you are part of the Finance Department's management group, where you contribute to the department's and administration's continued development. Qualifications We are looking for someone with an academic degree in economics or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have several years of experience with qualified financial work at management level within municipal operations or other politically governed organization. You also have documented experience of management and leadership assignments with personnel responsibility and experience leading change and development work. It is meritorious if you have experience from social services or other operations with similar assignments and conditions. We are looking for an engaged and development-oriented unit manager with a strategic holistic perspective and very good knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and financial management. You are a confident leader who creates engagement, participation, and good conditions for employees to take responsibility and develop. You think long-term, see the whole picture, and have the ability to translate strategic goals into concrete results. As a person you are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize work efficiently. You take initiative, drive development forward, and have documented ability to lead change work and create organizational support. You translate ideas into action and follow up work to ensure results. You communicate well verbally and in writing and contribute with positive energy and a solution-oriented approach. About the Workplace The position is placed in the Finance Department, which together with the Local Properties Department and the Procurement Department form the administration's Finance Division. The Finance Department plays a central role in the administration's management and planning and is responsible for ensuring qualified financial support to managers and operations. The unit consists of 16 employees working in operations-focused teams with focus on budgeting, follow-up, analysis, and reporting. Together we work for good financial management, high quality in financial processes, and accurate reporting that supports the organization's goals and development.
