The Swedish Migration Agency is committed to long-term digitalization to create better conditions for operations, employees, and the people the agency serves. The Operations and Technology Development section is responsible for developing, managing, and ensuring a stable, secure, and modern IT infrastructure.

About the role
As a unit manager, you lead an operation with highly qualified specialists who are responsible for operations, development, and management of IT infrastructure and technical platforms.
You have overall responsibility for operations, employees, and finances within your unit. The assignment involves creating conditions for effective teams, high delivery capacity, and a culture characterized by collaboration, learning, and continuous improvements.
In the role, you are responsible for, among other things:
leading, coaching, and developing employees and teams
ensuring the right competencies through strategic workforce planning and recruitment
managing operational planning, budget, and follow-up
driving improvement and development initiatives
developing working methods, processes, and delivery capacity within your area of responsibility
creating a good work environment and sustainable conditions for employees
contributing to the section's and IT department's long-term development.
As a unit manager, you are part of the section's management team and collaborate closely with other managers, product owners, project leaders, specialists, and operational representatives.

To be eligible for the position, you should have
academic education in IT, computer science, or other education combined with relevant experience that the employer deems equivalent
multiple years of experience in management with responsibility for personnel, operations, and budget
multiple years of experience working in IT infrastructure, IT operations, or technical platforms
experience leading change and development work
good understanding of modern working methods in IT, such as ITIL, agile methods, DevOps, or product-oriented governance
good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have
experience in leadership within public operations or other large, complex organizations
experience leading specialist or expert organizations in IT
experience working in mission-critical or security-sensitive IT environments
experience with cloud-based platforms and modern infrastructure development
experience leading operations in an organization undergoing comprehensive digital transformation
training or certifications in leadership, IT governance, or service management, such as ITIL, SAFe, or equivalent.
Terms of employment
Location: Norrköping, Linköping, or Stockholm. The role requires regular presence in Norrköping, where the majority of employees are based.
Employment type: Permanent employment.
Start date: By agreement.
Working hours: Full-time with flexible working hours.
Remote work: The possibility of some remote work is available based on operational needs and conditions.

Security vetting
Security vetting with a background check in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted before employment. Swedish citizenship is a requirement for the position. Employment is contingent on the security vetting being approved.
