Umeå Municipality's home care service is Umeå's largest provider with the longest experience in personal care and services. The municipality's home care provides various forms of support, service, and care in the home. We are the unit that manages all care services for our home care clients living in their own homes within Umeå Municipality.
Responsibilities
We are now seeking a unit manager who wants to join our great team and take responsibility for home care in Teg together with a colleague in a shared leadership role. You will be part of a management group with 18 other unit managers, development leaders, assistant operations managers, and an operations manager.
As a unit manager, you are responsible for operations, home care clients, personnel, and finances. Your main task is to ensure that we conduct our operations with high quality where our staff provides the best support to our home care clients.
The responsibilities of a unit manager include working with:
staffing planning and competency management
providing guidance and feedback to staff so that care work can develop
communicating values, encouraging dialogue and collaboration
systematic occupational health and safety work
rehabilitation and adaptation
implementation of new working methods, such as introducing new digital technology
Of course, there are times when the unit manager role is challenging, and to support you in your work, you have, among other things, your fellow unit managers where you have dialogue and collaborate on common issues. There are also support functions within administration, finance, and HR.

We are looking for someone who has:
higher education, perhaps as a social worker, or other higher education that provides knowledge in relevant legislation, behavioral science, and leadership
previous experience as a manager
It is advantageous if you have:
experience as a manager in elderly care, preferably in home care
management or leadership training, or completed an internal trainee program for future leaders
