The Culture and Leisure Department is now taking the next step to develop and optimize the operations of the municipality's most public and technically complex sports and swimming facilities. We are launching a completely new unit – Technical Facility Operations and Management – which will be responsible for Tinnerbäcksbadet, Saab Arena, and other facilities at Stångebro.
We are now seeking you to take on the role as our first unit manager. With us, you have a unique opportunity to shape the organization, lead a highly competent team, and ensure that Linköping residents have access to safe, functioning, and well-maintained facilities seven days a week.
As a unit manager, you will lead and develop the daily and strategic operations of the new unit. You will have full responsibility for personnel, budget, and operations for a team of specialist technicians. Since the unit is in a build-up phase, a significant and exciting part of your initial work will involve establishing structures, routines, and scheduling, as well as recruiting your team members.
The role includes:
Leading, motivating, and bringing together a team of facility technicians with specialized expertise.
Responsibility for maintenance planning and ongoing technical management of technically advanced facilities.
Procuring and coordinating external support resources and service agreements as needed.
Working closely with other unit managers within the department as well as external parties and operations personnel.
Driving energy and efficiency projects to ensure cost-effective facility operations.
Your workplace
The Culture and Leisure Department with approximately 260 employees offers multifaceted cultural and youth activities. The department faces new exciting challenges such as construction of new sports arenas, investments in more public art, and development of creative meeting places.
You will be part of the Sports and Outdoor Recreation Department, which currently consists of three units working with sports and outdoor development, facility operations, and association support. Together with your five colleagues, you will form the department's management group, jointly responsible for strategic development in sports and outdoor recreation.

About you
We are seeking someone who is a confident and communicative leader. Since the unit will manage very complex systems, we highly value your leadership skills, but the assignment also requires that you have a solid fundamental understanding of facility technology or management. You are organized, solution-oriented, and have the ability to see the bigger picture without losing sight of details.
Requirements for the position:
Several years of experience in technical operations or facility management from technically advanced or complex facilities.
Experience with maintenance planning and procurement of technical support resources/contractors.
Relevant education as a facility technician, property manager, facility engineer, or other experience/education that the employer deems equivalent.
Good knowledge of Swedish language, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
Experience with change initiatives or building new organizations.
Knowledge of pool water treatment, cooling technology, or complex control and regulation systems.
Experience from previous management or leadership roles
Good economic understanding and experience with budget responsibility.
