The Property and Service Management division consists of approximately 350 employees and is responsible for the municipality's properties, cleaning operations, meal services, and internal services. We are now seeking a unit manager for the Cleaning Unit. The Cleaning Department is responsible for ensuring a clean and pleasant indoor environment in the municipality's facilities and contributing to reduced disease transmission. The role also includes maintaining and caring for premises and surfaces to extend their lifespan. Cleaning operations are carried out by approximately 85 full-time employees plus a number of temporary staff. Work is performed professionally and with quality awareness, with a focus on sustainability, good working environment, and environmental responsibility. The Cleaning Unit operates as a result unit with significant responsibility for operations, finances, and personnel. The result unit is a municipal unit with its own management team. We work with a clear focus on quality, sustainability, and operational development. Responsibilities In your role as unit manager, you are responsible for personnel, finances, and operations in one of four geographic areas. You lead approximately 25–30 employees and work in close and trusting collaboration with the work team as well as other unit managers and the department manager. Operations work continuously with employee-driven operational development to optimize working methods and work toward a modern cleaning organization with focus on personnel, environment, and sustainable work methods. The role involves many internal contacts within Piteå Municipality, which is why a professional approach and good relationships are essential. As cleaners work at various locations throughout the municipality, much of the leadership takes place remotely, where Teams is an important tool for creating closeness despite distance. Piteå Municipality's approach to leadership is trust-based leadership. This means that as a manager, you are expected to stimulate co-creation, build trusting relationships, and ensure that employees can meet the needs of operations and customers. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education and several years of management experience. Alternatively, education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have a business-minded approach but understand and respect the conditions of a politically governed organization. As a person, you are structured, quality-conscious, solution-oriented, and self-driven. You are confident and clear in your leadership, build trusting relationships, and are motivated by developing people and operations. With good collaborative skills, you create engagement and find ways forward. A Class B driver's license and very good computer skills are required for this position.
