Unit Manager Service Hub for Children and Youth, and Adult and Livelihood Support
About the Job Do you want to lead a unit with a broad mandate where service, accessibility, and development are in focus? The unit plays an important role in creating good conditions for both residents who come into contact with the social services and for the operations working at the social offices. Here, questions regarding service, reception, administration, security, and facility matters come together. As a unit manager, you will have a central role in developing the unit's mandate and contributing to the intentions of the new social services act, with a focus on more accessible and preventive social services. The first meeting with social services is meaningful, and an important part of the mandate is therefore to develop working methods that create good service, accessibility, and trust for the residents we serve. The Service Hub belongs to the Resource Department for Children and Youth and works closely with operations within both Children and Youth and Adult and Livelihood Support. You will initially be responsible for approximately 10 employees. The work group may be expanded over time. As a unit manager, you are part of the Resource Unit's management group and collaborate closely with both management colleagues and other operations at the social offices. Here you have the opportunity to combine hands-on leadership with a development mandate where you can influence how service, support, and collaboration are shaped going forward. Responsibilities As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for the unit's operations, finances, personnel, and work environment. You lead and develop the operation together with your employees and are responsible for ensuring that the unit's mandate is carried out with good quality. The unit is responsible for, among other things, operating and developing two receptions, archive management, facility-related support within property and security matters, administrative support to the social offices' unit managers, coordination of systematic fire safety work, coordination and implementation of building meetings at the social offices. A central part of the mandate is to develop and ensure quality, working methods, service level, and appropriate staffing in the receptions. You are also responsible for developing the unit's working methods and forms of collaboration based on the operations' and residents' needs. In the role, you need to be able to switch between strategic development issues and ongoing operational activities. You collaborate closely with managers within Children and Youth and Adult and Livelihood Support and contribute to creating well-functioning joint solutions for the social offices. Through close and trusting leadership, you create conditions for your employees' development and for them to be able to perform their mandate in a professional and sustainable manner. About You We are looking for someone who has a university degree, at least 180 higher education credits, in an area the employer deems relevant. You have previous work experience from individual and family care and have understanding and knowledge of the processes that require administrative support in authority activities. You have experience formally leading others in your work, for example as a manager, senior social worker, methodological supervisor, project leader, or coordinator. Ideally, you have experience leading others who meet vulnerable people. You are motivated by clearly defined goals and have the ability to translate these into concrete actions. With focus on the goal, you can reprioritize work when conditions or needs change. You follow up and report results and goal achievement. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions. You are comfortable in social situations. You stand by your decisions and can convey uncomfortable messages when needed. You can see your work as part of a larger context and understand how it affects and is affected by other parts of the organization. You collaborate with others on overarching issues to create value. You are clear, get a hearing for your thoughts and ideas, and can influence decisions in a certain direction. You can through convincing arguments bring enthusiasm and energy that encourages good performance, teamwork, and increased motivation. We welcome your application! Other Information The recruitment is conducted using a competency-based method. Interviews will primarily be held on September 28 from 9-12 and September 29 from 1-4 p.m. We will use full-day testing of one or more candidates at our Center for Leadership Development (CLU); dates for this are October 20 or 22.
