Responsibilities
As a Unit Manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, staff, and finances and lead the daily work with clear direction and structure to ensure high quality in accordance with legislation and set goals. You lead engaged support assistants, support staff, educational support specialists, and pedagogical coordinators and create conditions for them to succeed through engaged and trust-based leadership.
The assignment includes planning, following up, and developing the operation where both core activities and development work are central parts. You ensure quality in daily work while driving improvements, translating goals into results, and creating sustainable work methods over time.
You are part of a management group with 22 unit managers, organized in two teams led by an assistant operations manager each. Close collaboration within and between teams creates shared vision, equity, and stability. Together with the operations manager, development leader, and colleagues, you drive the operation forward with focus on common direction, development, and sustainable results. As a manager in Lund Municipality, you are an ambassador for the leadership approach Listen, Learn, Lead and work actively based on trust-based governance.
We are Looking for
You who lead with clarity, trust, and presence and build confidence through dialogue and relationships. You have an academic degree in social work (such as social work degree, behavioral science, or equivalent) with at least 180 higher education credits, management experience, and good knowledge of LSS and/or SoL and related legislation. You have good digital competence and knowledge in and experience with labor law, work environment, and union cooperation.
To succeed in the role, you work in a structured and goal-oriented manner, create participation by involving and delegating responsibility, and communicate clearly with feedback that develops. You make well-reasoned decisions even in complex situations, maintain an overall focus, and see opportunities in change. Your leadership is characterized by trust, clarity, and courage and you contribute to a work environment with engagement, responsibility, and work satisfaction. It is a merit to have several years of management experience, leadership training, and experience working within LSS, preferably related to neuropsychiatric diagnoses.
