DUTIES Would you like to lead and develop Åre Municipality's meal service operations? We are now seeking a unit manager for the meals department. The position is based during daytime hours, without weekend or inconvenient work hours. As unit manager, you are responsible for leading and developing the operations together with engaged employees. You will have a varied role with responsibility for quality, work environment, budget, and operational development. The meals department is an important part of the municipality's operations. Every day we are responsible for producing meals for children, students, and seniors, where quality, sustainability, and good service are in focus. We are looking for you as a confident and engaged leader with good collaboration skills. You build trusting relationships, create participation, and have the ability to develop your employees. You work in a structured manner, see the bigger picture, and find solutions when operations face new challenges. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities and your ability to lead and develop operations. Your main responsibilities: • Lead and inspire employees within the meals department. • Oversee operations, quality, budget, and work environment. • Ensure that meals maintain high standards and comply with applicable guidelines. • Work actively with sustainability, food waste reduction, and continuous improvement. • Collaborate with schools, preschools, and other operations to create the best possible meal experience. You will become part of an engaged team where collaboration and development are an integral part of the work. As new to the role, you will receive support from an administrator and a fellow manager within the operational area. Together we work to develop meal service operations characterized by quality, sustainability, and good service. Management at Åre Municipality is based on three components: leadership, employer responsibility, and operational responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS • Relevant education in nutrition and food hygiene. • Experience in management with responsibility for budget and quality assurance is advantageous, preferably from meal service operations or other public sector operations. • Ability to plan, follow up, and see the bigger picture. • Good communication skills in Swedish, both verbal and written.
