The position is located within the Operations Support and Services administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. Within the administration, the municipality's internal services and service functions are consolidated. We contribute to the development of municipal operations and cross-municipal service solutions.
Would you like to improve daily life, the future, and quality of life for Linköping residents? With us, you can combine important assignments with a meaningful everyday life. Welcome to us!
Your responsibilities
As manager of the IT Platform unit, you are responsible for ensuring stable and secure IT infrastructure for Linköping Municipality. The assignment includes significant financial responsibility for a substantial budget and major agreements with our infrastructure suppliers. The team consists of 15 network technicians and systems technicians. Your direct supervisor is the IT Department Manager, and you will be part of the management group together with eight colleague managers.
You primarily work at a strategic and tactical level but can also lead operations at an operational level during major and serious incidents and outages. Together with your colleagues in the management group and your team members, you develop effective processes and routines focusing on creating a secure, stable, and modern base platform and operations organization.
We are looking for someone excited to drive a technology-intensive and mission-critical unit forward with the help of motivated and experienced team members and management colleagues.
Your workplace
The IT Department is part of Operations Support and Services within Linköping Municipality. Approximately 100 employees work here to provide IT services to the municipality's employees and operations and, by extension, to users, students, and residents in Linköping. We strive for each employee to experience work joy, have influence, desire, and opportunity to develop, both at work and as an individual. With us, work is offensive, varied, and challenging.
In the IT Platform unit, we work with operations, cybersecurity, and development of the municipality's collective IT environment. Our mission is to ensure a modern and operationally reliable IT environment with high availability for our 10,000 colleagues in the municipality so that we together can support Sweden's fifth-largest municipality with 160,000 residents. We are located in modern facilities at Ebbepark where we work together in an activity-based landscape.
Who we are looking for
We want you to have relevant academic education in technology or equivalent competence through work experience that we consider equivalent for the role. For the position, you need to have a couple of years of experience in a leadership role, such as project manager, team leader, or manager, where you have successfully led and motivated others.
You have good technical understanding and a background in IT infrastructure, networks, and data communications. You have the ability to understand complex technical flows at a structural and strategic level. Previous experience working in the public sector and understanding of public procurement (LOU) is an advantage, but not a requirement. It is meritorious if you have good knowledge of and insight into cybersecurity.
To succeed in the role, you are a confident and experienced leader—for example, from demanding assignments as a project manager or team leader—with great commitment to developing your team and managing the unit's finances. As a person, you are motivated by building structures, work methods, and methodology in a technology-intensive environment. You have the ability to inspire an already highly skilled group toward common goals through trust-based leadership. You create engagement and participation while being clear, decisive, and able to shift operations when circumstances change. The position also requires good communication skills in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
Since employment for this position is placed in a security class, Swedish citizenship is required. Security clearance with record check will be conducted before employment.
In this recruitment, we use personality and problem-solving tests as part of our assessment.
