Do you want to lead the work for living oceans, healthy waters, and sustainable agriculture in a rich agricultural landscape? The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation is seeking a unit manager who wants to drive and develop our work within oceans, water, and agricultural landscapes—areas that are crucial for stopping the loss of biodiversity and contributing to sustainable use of our natural resources. The Role of Unit Manager for Oceans, Water and Agricultural Landscapes The Unit for Oceans, Water and Agricultural Landscapes is part of the Department for Biodiversity and Environmental Toxins and consists of highly skilled and dedicated employees. Together, you will drive issues related to sustainable fishing, protection and restoration of marine and freshwater environments, and the transition to more sustainable agriculture and a robust food system. As unit manager, you have overall responsibility for the unit's operations, with a focus on leading, developing, and prioritizing the work so that it has maximum impact. You combine strategic work with operational leadership and create favorable conditions for employees to contribute their expertise. You lead in an environment with many parallel and complex issues, which requires the ability to create structure, direction, and long-term perspective in the work. The role includes many external contacts where you represent the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation to authorities, researchers, organizations, and decision makers. You collaborate closely with other units within the department and other parts of the organization, and contribute to a holistic perspective and joint strategic priorities. To match the demands of this role, we would like you to have: academic education management experience and experience leading through change good knowledge of issues related to oceans, water, and/or agriculture, preferably with a systems perspective experience with political advocacy work experience working both strategically and operatively excellent knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing Your personal qualities are important for you to thrive with us.
