We are now seeking a Unit Manager for Gruvan Care Home. Together we will operate and develop the business so that residents of Karlstad are offered the best possible care! Description Gruvan is centrally located below the Cathedral. The facility consists of three floors with eleven places on each floor. The care home is adapted for people with dementia. In the nearby area you will find Fröding Park, shops, and public transportation. The operations are currently run by Vardaga äldreomsorg and will transition to municipal management on December 1, 2026. Here you can see how we operate at Gruvan. Job Responsibilities As Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the care home's operations. You have operational responsibility for activities, finances, personnel, and work environment. An important part of your role is to drive, develop, and monitor operations based on set goals and in accordance with applicable legislation as well as the municipality's objectives, policies, and governance documents. You are responsible for strengthening and motivating staff and together with them identifying needs for skills development, changed working methods, and procedures. Through your trust-based leadership, you create conditions for staff to be engaged, take responsibility, and feel job satisfaction. You actively work to ensure that operations maintain high quality through continuous monitoring. You and your team ensure that procedures and work methods maintain high standards and that any shortcomings are identified and addressed so that care recipients always receive the best possible care. Qualifications We would like to see you with relevant academic education as a social worker, nurse, or similar, or management experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working as a manager where you have been responsible for personnel, finances, quality, and work environment. It is a merit if you have experience working with care recipients with cognitive illness. You need to have a valid driver's license (category B). Through your leadership, you motivate, engage, and unite people toward common goals. You are a natural role model and develop operations together with staff based on our core values.
