As unit manager for streets/parks, you are responsible for the municipality's activities within streets and parks. Streets/Parks is responsible for maintenance, operation and upkeep of public spaces within the municipality, including streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, parks and green areas, playgrounds and recreation areas in the municipality's town centers. The operation also handles matters related to public space permits, excavation permits, parking permits, traffic regulations, traffic safety, parking regulation and parking enforcement. The unit contributes expertise in the urban development process, from early planning stages to project implementation and completion. The assignment also includes construction work such as new construction and renovation of streets, green areas and water and sewage lines. Borgholm Municipality is an organization in development and the unit manager's area of responsibility may change over time. In the longer term, the assignment may also include the municipality's port operations. WORK TASKS As unit manager, you have overall responsibility for leading, developing and monitoring the streets/parks operation based on politically established goals, governing documents and financial frameworks. You report to the Technical Manager and are part of the operational area's management group. Collaboration with other departments of the municipality is an important part of your work. You have full responsibility for finances, personnel and operations and lead an operation with approximately 15 employees. In the role, you are responsible for creating structure, clarity and good conditions for employees as well as ensuring that the operation is conducted efficiently and with good quality. The unit's assignment includes, among other things, project management, project planning, procurement and contract management. You are responsible for planning and monitoring operations and investment budgets as well as for implementing municipal development and construction projects, such as expansion and renovation of streets, water and sewage lines, parks and other municipal infrastructure. The role involves close collaboration with other parts of the municipality and you will be an important expertise in the municipality's urban development process. You also have contacts with contractors, authorities, residents and other external stakeholders. The assignment requires that you can combine a strategic and long-term perspective with the ability to handle operational and operational issues.
