Now we are looking for a Unit Manager for Streets and Parks at Habo Municipality!
The unit is part of the Technical Administration, which consists of six units: properties, planning and development, building permits, food services, streets/parks, and the water and sewerage unit. The Technical Administration plays an important role in the municipality's daily operations and long-term development, with responsibility for functions and environments that affect people's daily lives and the municipality's future development.
As unit manager for Streets and Parks, you will have the opportunity to lead, develop, and coordinate a well-functioning operation with engaged employees, stable finances, and clear future ambitions. You are responsible for the municipality's streets, parks and green areas, playgrounds, street lighting, and forest management – areas that are of great importance for residents' daily lives and the municipality's attractiveness.
You will lead approximately 20 employees and have responsibility for operations, personnel, and finances. The role involves a combination of strategic development work and hands-on leadership where you drive projects from idea to implementation.
You will become an important part of the Technical Administration and work closely with colleagues, contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders to create safe, sustainable, and attractive environments for Habo's residents.

Your Assignment
The assignment gives you the opportunity to build on a well-functioning unit while driving development forward in areas such as infrastructure, maintenance, procurement, and long-term planning.
The role suits you if you enjoy combining hands-on leadership with development issues in contracting, construction, and public environments. You will be part of the Technical Administration's management group together with other unit managers and report directly to the administration director.
The assignment includes, among other things:
Leadership and development of employees and operations
Project management within streets, parks, and construction areas
Ownership of contaminated sites
Planning, design, and procurement of contracts and construction work
Budgeting, financial monitoring, and long-term planning
Development of maintenance plans
Contacts with authorities, contractors, and other external stakeholders
The assignment also includes close cooperation with other units within the Technical Administration, particularly on matters concerning the development of the municipality's public environments and infrastructure.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with relevant technical background and experience in the field of operations. You may have worked in the public sector, on the contracting side, or in the business sector, and you have an understanding of how projects and operations are driven from planning to implementation and enjoy a role where leadership, development, and infrastructure building meet.
For the role, we want you to have:
Relevant higher education in, for example, roads and water, civil engineering, construction, or other technical experience that the employer considers equivalent
Experience in the field of operations, for example in streets, parks, construction, asphalt, contracting, or infrastructure
Experience leading others or driving projects, working groups, or contracts with good results
Experience in planning, procurement, implementation, and follow-up in contracting or construction-related operations
Understanding of financial management, budgeting, and follow-up
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
Class B driver's license
It is a merit if you have experience from public sector operations, but it is not a requirement.

You have good people skills, build trust in your relationships, and have the ability to help others grow, take responsibility, and work toward common goals.
