The Infrastructure Department employs approximately 200 people with the mission of making Sigtuna municipality an attractive, vibrant, and safe place to live and work. We plan new residential and business areas. We design and build roads and utilities for water and sewage. We maintain parks and forests as well as schoolyards, preschool yards, and playgrounds. We work with traffic matters, parking enforcement, waste management, and much more. We handle regulatory functions and exercise supervision and control, as well as issuing permits within our areas. We invest in our employees through both good resources for competency development and shared activities. Sigtuna municipality is an expanding municipality with extensive residential construction, numerous business establishments, and public space investments. 1 position(s). DUTIES Do you want to be a reliable and clear leader close to daily operations? As a unit manager with us, you will have a central role in the municipality's street operations and infrastructure activities. The unit consists of 17 employees, including infrastructure workers and work supervisors. As a unit manager, you are responsible for operations, personnel, and budget, and you ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with political decisions, legislation, and established goals. You have a clear focus on daily operations and on creating good conditions for employees to perform their work. You need to have a good understanding of the operational work carried out within street operations and infrastructure, and be able to understand your employees' work environment, challenges, and methods. As a manager, you work closely with your employees and are responsible for, among other things, staff development, salary reviews, and competency planning. The role also includes certain tasks related to public procurement and purchasing, as well as work with investment plans and monitoring and oversight of investments. The role involves many contact points, both internally and externally, including with clients, project organizations, and external stakeholders. Through dialogue and collaboration, you work together with the operations team to handle daily issues and ensure efficient operations. As part of the department's management team, you contribute expertise to the team's work on both strategic and operational matters, based on operational needs. You report to the Head of the Technical Department. Winter readiness and on-call availability are part of the management responsibility, where you have overall responsibility for the municipality's winter road maintenance and participate in the on-call rotation yourself. This is a role for you if you want to combine clear management responsibility with a close and present leadership style. You enjoy being near the operations, understand the operational conditions, and want to work together with your team to ensure safe, efficient, and well-functioning street operations and infrastructure activities. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • Several years of experience in a formal management role with personnel and budget responsibility within technical operations, street operations, infrastructure, or another technical field the employer deems equivalent • Experience with maintenance and upkeep of municipal roads and associated traffic facilities, either within municipal operations or as a service provider on behalf of a municipality • Experience working with winter road maintenance and winter readiness • Strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish • B driver's license It is also advantageous to have: • BAS-U training • Good system experience and experience working with operational and administrative systems • Experience with infrastructure work in municipal land environments, such as roads, parks, and other municipal infrastructure You are a results-oriented person who takes responsibility, drives work forward, and focuses on achieving set goals.
