Unit Manager for Radar, Marine, and Air - Market and Procurement

About the Position As a manager, you contribute to FMV's position as Sweden's leading procurement authority and ensure that our procurements lead to the delivery of goods and services on the best possible commercial terms. You are responsible for the radar, marine, and air unit within the joint management and systems department. The unit is responsible for strategic purchasing work including procurement as well as ordering and follow-up within, among other things, command and control systems, sensors, system integration, installation, and power supply. Where relevant, the work is conducted in accordance with category-driven/strategic procurement methodology. You become the responsible manager for the unit's employees (approximately 12-18 people), who form a supporting expert function within procurement/purchasing and commercial matters for the authority's various operations. You actively contribute to the department's management group together with three other peer unit managers and report to the department manager for joint management and systems. Your ability to lead, organize, and develop the unit's work and your employees is crucial for achieving good results. As a manager, you are a key person in communication between employees and management. You ensure that resources and competencies are used effectively and strategically. You are also an important sounding board and support in complex matters – from contract interpretation to business decisions and internal regulations. The role includes collaborating with other parts of Market and Procurement (M&I), FMV, and the Swedish Armed Forces, where part of your mission is to actively build and strengthen these collaborations. You play an active role in development within M&I – where you contribute to everything from supply security, contract management, and financing models in procurement, to internal initiatives that strengthen the organization and promote innovation. As a manager, you represent FMV's vision, goals, and values. You take responsibility for developing and exercising good leadership according to FMV's leadership principles: leading by example, trust, openness, and results. The position is located in Stockholm. Business travel occurs. About You We are looking for someone with relevant academic education or equivalent competence acquired in other ways that we consider equivalent. You have current and relevant management and leadership experience, which makes you confident in your management and leadership role. To succeed in the role, you also need several years of current and relevant experience with complex procurements/purchasing/business dealings, either in an implementation role or as a responsible manager. You also have experience with public procurement, as well as with change management. The position requires good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. We would like to see that you have worked in an international environment and that you have experience negotiating larger/complex business deals. We also view experience with material supply to the Swedish Armed Forces positively.
