We are now looking for a manager for the property development unit who wants to take a key role in creating sustainable, fit-for-purpose and energy-efficient properties for the future.
Gävle faces major opportunities and challenges related to energy transition, climate adaptation, social sustainability and technological development. As manager of the property development unit, you will have an important task in driving this work forward together with engaged employees and colleagues.
About the role
As manager of the property development unit, you are responsible for leading, coordinating and developing a business with specialist expertise in energy, HVAC, safety, land and outdoor environment, electrical, controls and regulations, social sustainability, building information as well as environment and climate. You have personnel, budget and operational responsibility for around ten employees and actively work to create good conditions for both your employees' development and business results.
You report to the Property Manager and work together with, among others, the manager of the maintenance unit and the manager of the construction unit. Together, you contribute to developing Gavle Properties' property portfolio from a long-term and strategic perspective.

In this role you will:
lead and develop the unit's specialist functions and expertise
ensure that resources are used effectively and contribute to business objectives
drive the development of working methods, processes and quality work
contribute to Gavle Properties achieving its goals in energy, sustainability and climate
ensure compliance with legal requirements, internal guidelines and policies
implement new technology, changes in the external environment and industry developments into concrete improvements in the business
create collaboration between different parts of the organization to achieve the best possible results
Your background
We are looking for someone who is a confident and development-oriented leader with the ability to combine strategic thinking and operational work with close and engaged leadership.
You have:
an academic degree in real estate economics, engineering or another field that the employer deems relevant
experience in a management role with personnel, budget and operational responsibility
good ability to communicate, build trust and develop long-term relationships
It is meritorious if you have:
good knowledge of environmental and climate issues or urban planning
experience from the property sector
experience of strategic development and change management work
experience from public administration or a politically governed organization
