About the job Do you want to lead several important service and support functions within the administration and contribute to our long-term and strategic development? We are now seeking a unit manager for one of our administrative units within the finance department. The unit is responsible for property matters, mail handling, reception, conference services, and mobility and environment. The unit's operations are located at several addresses within the Nordost city area with a total of 25 employees and a coordinator who assists in the daily operation of the receptions. The administration is undergoing a development process to create a more equitable and efficient social services, with a greater focus on early and preventive measures. An important part of the goal is to work closer to those we serve and meet people in a more coordinated way. Therefore, we are developing how and where our operations are represented in the city area, with the ambition to increasingly consolidate various functions in local offices and meeting places near residents. This should contribute to increased accessibility and trust, better conditions for collaboration, and a more efficient use of our shared resources. You will have a central role in implementing this in practice. You lead and develop the unit and ensure that the work is characterized by professionalism, quality, and good service. You have personnel, budget, and operational responsibility as well as overall responsibility for work environment, rehabilitation, and conduct, among other things, employee and salary conversations. You are part of the finance department's management group and are expected to contribute both from your own operations and to the department's and administration's joint development. An important part of the assignment is to develop the administration's future facility and service structure so that it supports our long-term direction. This includes contributing to the development of local offices and meeting places where multiple parts of the administration can be consolidated and meet residents in a coordinated manner. Qualifications You have a bachelor's degree that the employer considers relevant for the assignment, for example in public administration, finance, property, social or behavioral science. You have previous experience working as a manager with responsibility for operations, personnel, and work environment. It is also meritorious if you have experience from public sector activities. To fit the role, you need to be able to create direction and bring others with you. You communicate clearly, create understanding for decisions and changes, and have the ability to influence others through dialogue, trust, and clear leadership. You are responsive and can capture different perspectives and needs. The role involves many contact points and you need to be able to listen to both employees, managers, and operations, while also weighing different interests and making decisions. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in operations where working methods and conditions are being developed. You see opportunities for improvement, drive change forward, and can translate an overall direction into concrete action together with others. The unit's mission is closely linked to how the administration functions and develops, and you need to be able to see connections between facilities, services, operations, finance, and organization, and understand how decisions within your own area affect other parts of the administration.
