The Preschool Administration is divided into four city districts: Center, Hisingen, Southwest, and Northeast. In each district, the Child Health Support Team operates. The support team consists of competent special education teachers, psychologists, social workers, and speech-language pathologists, as well as operations and development leaders for language, who all work on assignment from the principal but are led by the Unit Manager Child Health. The role includes close collaboration with other unit managers within the operational area. The Child Health mission is to support preschool staff, principals, and operational managers in leading child health work in preschools. Through an inclusive approach, we work promotively and preventively to ensure every child's right to a developmental, safe, and professional learning environment. As a unit manager, you will: • Lead the Child Health Support Team to create equitable education for children in preschools. • Systematically monitor and develop the quality of child health processes. • Develop the support team's work from a preventive and health-promoting perspective. • Develop work based on proven experience and evidence. • Ensure competence development for the Child Health Support Team. • Collaborate and cooperate with principals/managers, labor organizations, and internal and external operations. • Develop administration-wide action plans and procedures. • Participate in the operational area's management group. • Have personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree equivalent to 180 credits in, for example, pedagogy or another field relevant to the position. You must have leadership experience with personnel management responsibility, preferably within the unit's area of responsibility or equivalent within public service. The role also requires knowledge and experience within the unit's area of responsibility. It is meritorious if you have experience in: • Working in a politically governed organization • Systematic quality work • Driving development processes • Leadership training • Knowledge and/or experience in financial management and resource allocation • Knowledge and/or experience with laws/regulations and collective agreements related to employer responsibility As a person, you lead, develop, and drive sustainable change work over the long term, both at local and broader levels. You can effectively identify and analyze organizational issues and propose possible solutions. To succeed in the role of unit manager, you should have the ability to see the whole picture, combining operational plans with the organization's goals, and be able to communicate and lead your employees toward them. Through enthusiasm and positive energy, you encourage good performance, create team spirit, and increase motivation. You listen to other people to understand their needs. You actively seek others' views and perspectives and are receptive to them by showing respect, consideration, and care. You work for cohesion in the work group and view setbacks as learning opportunities, creating space for dialogue. You are motivated by clearly defined goals and have the ability to translate these into concrete action. With focus on the goal, you can reprioritize work when conditions or needs change.
